Vehicle recovery after a breakdown, collision or for planned transport
When should a vehicle be carried on a recovery truck?
A recovery truck is not only for accident-damaged cars. It is the safest option whenever a vehicle cannot continue legally or without risking further damage.
Platform transport is usually recommended when the steering, suspension, wheel, gearbox or drivetrain has been damaged. It is also the right choice after a serious engine failure, with a seized wheel, visible fluid leaks or when the engine should not be started.
HELP-CAR also provides scheduled vehicle transport: collecting a recently purchased car, delivering it to a specialist workshop, moving it between cities, handing it over to a new owner, and longer-distance transport across Poland and Europe.
Before departure, we confirm the collection point, destination, vehicle condition and access at the loading location. This allows the driver to prepare the right loading method in advance.
The condition of the vehicle determines how it is loaded
When calling, it helps to tell us:
- whether the wheels roll freely;
- whether the steering works;
- whether the parking brake can be released;
- whether the car has an automatic gearbox;
- whether it is four-wheel drive.
A roadworthy car on a clear parking area is very different from a collision-damaged vehicle with a locked wheel. On arrival, the driver assesses the situation, chooses the safest loading method and secures the vehicle according to its construction.
Loose bodywork, visible leaks and any parts that could move during transport are checked before setting off.
What affects the price?
The cost depends mainly on:
- the collection location;
- the destination;
- the type and size of vehicle;
- its technical condition;
- the difficulty of access and loading.
Collecting a working car from an open car park is not the same as recovering a vehicle with a locked wheel from a busy roadside. For this reason, we establish the important details before dispatching the truck.
With HELP-CAR, you speak directly to the driver arranging the transport. There is no call centre and no need to repeat the same information to several people.
The vehicle is delivered to the exact agreed location: a workshop, home address, company yard or another suitable destination.
Useful information to have ready
Please prepare, where possible:
- your exact location;
- the delivery address;
- the make and model;
- whether the wheels and steering are operational;
- photos of the vehicle and its surroundings.
Accurate information helps us assess the loading requirements and organise the transport more efficiently.
Safety comes first
We recommend platform transport whenever towing or continued driving could make the damage worse or create a road safety risk.
With damaged suspension, a locked wheel, leaking fluids or serious collision damage, the situation is assessed first and the safest loading and transport method is chosen afterwards.
